Terms & Conditions
We want every child to feel safe, supported, and inspired at Speak Up. These Terms & Conditions are here to keep things clear for parents and carers, and to make sure our drama clubs run smoothly.
Information
- Parents/carers must inform Speak Up of any changes to personal details (contact numbers, email, medical information, etc.) immediately.
- If your child has any health conditions or injuries, you must let us know before they attend or as soon as they occur.
- If a club is forced to close due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. extreme weather, school closure, public health measures), fees cannot be refunded.
- Parents/carers are responsible for keeping up to date with communication from Speak Up (emails, texts, letters, or school notices).
- Speak Up may change the facilitator leading a class at any point during the term.
Late Collection
- Parents/carers must collect children promptly at the end of class.
- Facilitators are not able to escort children home.
- The time your child is in our care is limited to the scheduled club session.
- Children left after the end of the club are considered unauthorised in our care, and staff will follow the late collection procedure.
- A 5-minute grace period is given at the end of the club. After this, a £5 charge for every additional 5 minutes will be applied.
- We understand that emergencies can happen. If you are delayed, please contact Speak Up or the school immediately and leave a voicemail if you cannot get through.
- Late fees must be paid before the next class. Repeated lateness may result in your child’s place being withdrawn.
Behaviour
- We ask parents/carers to encourage their children to come to sessions ready to listen, take part, and respect others.
- Speak Up is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. Behaviour that undermines this — such as bullying, aggression, or repeated disruption — will not be tolerated.
- If a child’s behaviour puts the safety or wellbeing of others at risk, we will work with parents/carers to address the issue.
- In serious or ongoing cases, Speak Up reserves the right to suspend or remove a child from the club. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
Child Wellbeing & Safeguarding
- Children will only be released to parents/carers or a named adult provided in advance.
- All Speak Up facilitators are experienced, trained, and enhanced DBS checked.
- At least one responsible adult is always present in every class.
- We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, abuse, or unsafe behaviour.
Inclusion & Adaptability
- Speak Up welcomes children of all backgrounds and abilities.
- While our workshops are not a substitute for specialist provision, we do our best to adapt so every child can have a positive and enriching experience.
Fees & Cancellations
- All fees are payable in advance of term.
- A deposit can secure a place, with the balance due within 4 weeks of term starting.
- Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, as places are reserved for the full term.
- To keep a place for the following term, fees must be paid before the current term ends.
- Parents/carers must notify Speak Up if their child will not continue in the next term.
- Missed sessions cannot be credited, refunded, or added onto the end of term.
Notice Period
- For after-school clubs, private lessons, or school provision, we require one full term’s notice (approx. 12 weeks).
- Private lessons: if cancelled on the day by a parent/carer, the session will still be charged. If Speak Up cancels, we will offer a make-up session where possible, or a credit.
Publicity & Marketing
- From time to time, photos or videos may be taken for promotional use.
- If you do not wish your child to appear in any publicity, please notify us in writing at enrolment.
General Disclaimer
- Speak Up reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
- By enrolling, parents/carers agree to these Terms & Conditions.
- These Terms & Conditions constitute the full agreement between parents/carers and Speak Up.
Our Promise: We will always create safe, welcoming spaces where children can grow in confidence, creativity, and joy through drama.
