1. We:

• Follow all relevant government guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
• Have a named Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) responsible for child protection, and two Deputy DSLs to ensure cover at all times.
• Ensure all staff and facilitators complete regular safeguarding and child protection training, and that our DSLs complete additional DSL-specific training.
• Require enhanced DBS checks for all staff, with reference checks carried out as part of our recruitment process.
• Provide a safe environment in all workshops and classes, with at least one responsible adult present at all times.
• Take concerns seriously: any safeguarding issue raised is recorded, acted upon, and referred to the appropriate authority when necessary.
• Maintain a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, or abuse of any kind.
• Have a clear route for staff to raise concerns about a colleague’s behaviour.
• Apply safeguarding measures equally in in-person and online sessions.
• Review this policy annually to ensure it stays in line with legislation and best practice.
